The garden park included in the Estate S.Apollonio, owned by the Foundation Without Borders - Onlus, covers an area of over 70,000 square meters and is the result of loving care and attention to the green. Its birth dates back to 1973, when its creator, Anselmo Castelli, with the intention of creating a house surrounded by greenery, planted the first trees in what were the grounds of the family farm: that was the first step of a unique adventure. In 1980, returning from a trip to Brazil, Castelli, enchanted by the lush Amazon forest, decided to create a green area full of trees, shrubs and flowers of about 10,000 square meters around the house. He entrusted the design to Gianfranco Paghera, in line with the project and its aims for its design philosophy, aimed at the imitation of nature and the enhancement of typical territorial scenarios. From that moment began the gradual and definitive removal of the land of the company to traditional agricultural crops. Many years have passed since that 1973, but time in this unique corner of the Mantuan plain seems almost to expand to allow nature to transmit its ancient harmony. The Parco Giardino Tenuta S. Apollonio is the Italian headquarters of Fondazione Senza Frontiere - a non-profit organization that for over 40 years has been operating in Italy and around the world for the protection of nature and the promotion of education and education.
